Meet our Artists > Kate Bradley

The human form has long held a fascination for me. I'm an incurable people watcher. The way the body moves. How the same pose, struck by two people, can look differently. And, what if we didn't have gravity? How would that change the way we move, the way we look? I wonder.

I am a figurative painter with an inclination toward narration and storytelling. Sometimes the story is how we are. Sometimes the story is how we were. Sometimes the story is how we would be, if we could be... and we can!

My paintings are bold and full of color. I incorporate the universal concepts of food, figure and mythology to reveal the richness and texture of vibrant life.

When you look at my paintings, I invite you to do more than observe. I invite you to taste the robust fruits and vegetables, link minds with the figures, and enter the story.

Kate Bradley is a native Wisconsinite; born in Milwaukee and raised in Antigo. She has attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley and Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.

In April 1995, Kate opened a private studio in Appleton and began her personal journey of expression through oil painting. She continues to create in both her personal sanctuary, Studio de la Paloma, and in her studio at Main Street Art Works.

Kate conducts painting classes to those wishing to break through their personal barriers to reach their own intuitive expression and creativity.
